About the role:
The Teacher - Individual Support provides high quality and innovative course materials and excellent teaching delivery to Box Hill Institute students to:
- support student success in Health courses and thereby improve their employment and/or educational pathways;
- provide a positive learning environment; and
- ensure Box Hill Institute compliance requirements are met.
The Teacher - Individual Support is one of several positions in the Health and Community unit of the The Faculty of Health, Community & Life Sciences. The position reports to the Manager Health Programs and is responsible for liaising with students, employers, relevant industry groups, services providers, overseas partners and employees of the Box Hill Institute at all levels.
The Faculty of Health, Community and Life Sciences provides a wide range of teaching and learning programs at local, interstate and international campuses. The Faculty delivers nationally recognised training to over 1200 students in courses ranging from Certificates to Diplomas and postgraduate programs. Disciplinary areas include nursing, health and community services, animal care and management, biosecurity, horticulture, conservation and land management.
Our courses provide pathways into further education and employment and help to increase life and employability skills. Full-time, part-time, on-campus, blended, work-based and online delivery options exist to suit the needs of our students and industry partners.
About You:
The Qualifications and Expertise required for this Teacher - Individual Support role are:
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment plus TAELLN411 Address Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills and TAEASS502 Design and Develop Assessment Tools; or a qualification at diploma level or higher in Adult Education.
- Vocational competencies at least to the level being delivered and assessed; Certificate III Individual Support (Ageing).
- A strong understanding of learning theories, including adult learning theory and ability to apply these in various settings.
- Current and sound experience in Health services and training delivery. Recent experience working within a relevant vocational context is essential. Experience in a vocational education training environment will be highly regarded.
