Position Information
Stanmore Public School (enrolment 551) has a long, proud history, it has stood on the lands of the Gadigal people since its establishment in 1884. Today we continue our rich history as we prepare students for exciting futures in a dynamic world.
The school offers a vast range of opportunities within and beyond the classroom including specialist Music and Drama programs as well as a choice of community languages including Mandarin and Greek. Selection Criteria
In addition to the general selection criteria,
- Approval to teach infants and/or primary with a capacity to engage in reflective practice or collaborative inquiry to improve professional knowledge and practice, leading to improved educational outcomes for students.
- Proven ability to lead with integrity and develop strong collaborative teams characterised by high levels of collective efficacy, relational trust and psychological safety that enable students to benefit from the combined knowledge and expertise of the team.
- Demonstrated innovative teaching practices and the capacity to promote the use of information and communication technologies as a cross-curriculum priority across the school.
- Experience in leading innovative programs that foster a culture of inclusion, promote student wellbeing and engagement while strengthening partnerships with parents, carers and the wider community.
General Selection Criteria
- Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
- Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
- Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
- Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
- Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
