Support for Beginning Teachers
Teacher Learning Centres (TLCs) serve as a vehicle to coordinate high quality teacher professional learning practices including professional development, release time, mentoring, coaching, networking, holistic induction and support for the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (APST). The Metropolitan TLC has been established as a professional learning centre supporting preservice, beginning and early career teachers as they progress along the teaching continuum.

The intent for the Metropolitan TLC is to provide consistent and streamlined professional learning that empowers confident and capable teaching professionals. We provide a variety of targeted professional learning events for beginning teachers throughout the region, including Beginning Teacher Induction Conferences and Beginning Teacher Networks.

Particular skills and knowledge across the middle years in any of mathematics, science, STEM, ITD and special education is desirable. Experienced teachers as well as those beginning their teacher career are equally welcome.
