About Queensland Academy for Science Mathematics and Technology
QASMT is an International Baccalaureate World School and is proud to uphold the values of an IB education. Alongside our IB programs we have a strong focus on Positive Education at QASMT.
We offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) in the senior years and the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IBMYP) to our students in Years 7-9. The IBDP is a demanding pre-university course of study that leads to international external examinations.
The IBMYP provides a rigorous framework through which the Australian Curriculum is delivered. Both programs focus on the IB Approaches to Teaching and Learning, that provide a strong focus on pedagogy, and developing the IB Learner Profile through student-centred learning.
QASMT currently has a Guidance Officer with a focus on career planning and the focus of this second role is to be a driving force in the development of programs for the provision of a comprehensive student support program that is responsive to the identified and changing needs of students, as a member of the Student Services Team.
The portfolio includes a focus on working with our whole school community in ensuring we nurture the social and emotional wellbeing of highly capable and gifted learners.
