Position Information

Penshurst West Public School is located in an urbanized area of southern Sydney. The school features quality teaching, high expectations for student learning, teamwork, consultative decision making and consistency while valuing the diverse skill sets of students and staff. The community actively supports the school and works closely with the leadership team in a planned, effective and collaborative way. The school prioritises high expectations for academic growth across a diverse enrolment of 278 students, including students considered to be high potential/gifted learners and those with disabilities. Forty-eight per cent of students at the school are from a language background other than English. Students with disabilities have well scaffolded support through three Autism Support Classes and a strong Learning and Support Team. Students access a wide variety of creative arts and sporting opportunities which are valued by the community. Through the comprehensive development of the situational analysis for the 2021-2024 School Plan, the staff, community and students unpacked the strengths of the school and also identified the specific areas of growth. A consultative approach and the reframing of the school vision has supported the development of comprehensive strategic directions and initiatives.
