Position Information

Mount Annan Public School is located between Camden and Campbelltown. The school has an enrolment of 729 students and consists of 28 mainstream classes and one support class. Aboriginal students make up 6.76% of the student population and 27.62% of the students have a language background other than English.

Selection Criteria

In addition to the general selection criteria,

  • Approval to teach infants and/or primary.
  • Demonstrated capacity to provide inspirational and innovative educational leadership in a time of rapid educational change through building and enhancing a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement in teaching that will deliver excellence in outcomes for students.
  • Demonstrated leadership of reflective, evidence-based, and data-informed practices with the ability to strategically lead change that results in every teacher, every leader and every student improving every year.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, management and communication skills with the proven ability to build and strengthen a collaborative culture and effectively manage complex day to day operations to support students, staff and families.
  • Demonstrated and proven capacity as a decisive, collaborative, open, well organised, approachable and highly visible leader that supports and fosters genuine relationships with the whole school community to deliver excellence in outcomes for students and to ensure that every student is known, cared for and valued as a person and a learner.

General Selection Criteria

  1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
  2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
  3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
  4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
  5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
  6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
