Details: The ACT Education Directorate is seeking enthusiastic and suitable Disability Education applicants to join our Casual/Temporary Classroom Teacher Employment Register who are available at short notice and able to work across the ACT Public School system.
Our Disability Educators deliver programs across a wide range of settings from our four Specialist Schools to small group programs and mainstream classrooms in the primary, secondary and college sectors.
As a Disability Educator with the Directorate you will help in the creating and delivering of specialised learning programs for students who have a range of learning difficulties and disabilities, creating positive outcomes for students with a disability or with additional learning and support needs.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:

  • Qualifications and/or significant experience in teaching students with disability, complex needs and/or a trauma background.
  • Prior to commencing in this role a minimum of four years full time (or equivalent) tertiary study leading to the award of a recognised school teaching qualification; current Professional Teaching registration with the ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) (or eligibility for teacher registration with the ACT TQI) and a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required.
