Principal Level P4 - Gregory Hills New Primary School

The interim new school at Gregory Hills will open at the start of 2023.The school will be housed at a temporary site and will cater for up to 1000 students in a brand new, state-of-the art facility.  

Upon completion, the school will include 44 flexible learning spaces, 4 support learning spaces, administration and staff facilities, canteen, multi-purpose hall, library, covered outdoor learning area (COLA), landscaped outdoor learning areas, outdoor play areas including a sports court and a playing field, with the potential for shared community use.

The school will have a commitment to excellence and achievement in all areas of education which shapes learning experiences that are authentic, challenging participatory and inclusive with a strong community focus.

Selection Criteria
In addition to the general selection criteria,

• High level application of leadership with a proven knowledge and understanding of pedagogy and curriculum with the skills to inspire and develop staff in the provision of future focused, high quality teaching and learning programs.
• Demonstrated highly visible and collaborative practice to build school culture to successfully manage, support and drive the vision of the development of a new school to ensure high expectations.
• Proven ability to build leadership capacity to establish a culture of continuous school improvement through exemplary planning and whole school evaluation processes.
• Proven ability to engage and consult with students, staff, parents and the wider community to enrich partnerships and establish a high-quality systematic approach to whole school wellbeing.

General Selection Criteria

1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people

Conditions

If you have not held a substantive principal position in a NSW Public School at any time in the past five (5) years, you need to have completed the NSW Public School Leadership and Management Credential to be eligible to apply, and you will need to attach a copy of your provisional credential certificate or final credential certificate as part of your application.

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school’s RAM allocation. As part of the ongoing application of the new structure a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis. The principal classification for this school is Principal Level P4 for 2022.
