Georges River College Peakhurst Campus is a co-educational middle school campus, which caters for students in Year 7 to Year 10. We are part of a multi-campus collegiate with three middle years 7-10 campuses (GRC Hurstville, GRC Peakhurst and GRC Penshurst) and one senior campus years 11 and 12 (GRC Oatley).

GRC Peakhurst Campus has an enrolment of 850 students and includes a support unit for students with moderate intellectual and physical disabilities. The student body consists of 50% of students with English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) and 3% of students from an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background.

Selection Criteria

  • Approval to teach students with learning and support needs (secondary) and/or experience teaching students with learning and support needs (secondary) in regular classes. Capacity to provide specialist assistance to students in regular classes with additional learning and support needs and their teachers
  • Experience/capacity to support student progress in literacy and numeracy through individual, small group or team-teaching environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively as a member of the Learning and Support team.
  • Capacity to analyse student performance data to inform teaching practice.
  • Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate personalised adjustments or individual learning plans where required with the classroom teacher, student and/or parent or carer.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
