St George is located less than 500km west of Brisbane on the banks of the mighty Balonne River in south western Queensland. St George State High School is surrounded by wheat, sheep and cotton farmers, and, in recent times, fruits, grapes, vegetables and beef have enriched the local economy. St George is a vibrant rural community that attracts tourists to the town as well.

The school caters for more than 200 students from Years 7 to 12 and aims to provide high-quality education which makes a positive difference to the lives of all its students. Students with disabilities are welcomed and well catered for in the school environment.

We strive to equip young people for the future to enable them to contribute socially, economically and culturally to our vibrant community. We assist students to love learning, develop judgement and a sense of responsibility, understand the past and prepare for the future.
