Kyogle High School is a rural comprehensive high school located in the Northern Rivers. The school has a strong focus on student well-being and quality teaching. Current enrolment is 300 students, including 10% Aboriginal and 2% ESL students. The school currently supports a multi-categorical class (MCC).

Kyogle High School is part of the Kyogle Community of Schools. The school enjoys strong links with the partner primary schools, focussing on a Positive Behaviour for Learning and well-supported transition programs.

The school works closely with the local community and has an active P&C. Kyogle High School receives significant equity funding which is allowing for the introduction of new programs and initiatives to boost student learning outcomes.

Selection Criteria

  • Approval to teacher Technology Mandatory (Stage 4) and Food Technology.
  • Approval to teach or preparedness to undertake VHF teacher training in Hospitality - Food and Beverage providing the qualification entry benchmark is met.
  • Evidence of effective classroom practice that includes the ability to cater for students with a diverse range of learning needs through differentiated curriculum, classroom management and integration of technology.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively within the TAS faculty and across the school with a commitment to developing quality teaching and learning programs and resources that embed the school’s strategic directions.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, communicative and organizational skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents and the community.


An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
