Cairns State Special School is seeking an energetic, passionate and skilled teacher of Students with Disabilities to join our highly motivated and professional teaching team commencing in April 2022.

We look forward to welcoming a highly motivated, dedicated and professional educator with the passion and expertise to support the educational outcomes of our students.  As a teacher joining our team, you will work collaboratively as a valued team member providing highly specialised and individualised programs for our students including a focus on the purposeful integration of ICTs, particularly in the area of communication.  You will need to possess effective communication skills, the ability to plan and meet short term and long term goals and an enthusiastic, positive attitude to teamwork.  You will be supported as a special education teacher in the Far North Queensland region to further enhance your teaching and learning skills through multiple professional learning opportunities, coaching and mentoring. The first of its kind in Far North Queensland, Cairns State Special School is a state of the art facility providing teaching spaces and outdoor areas to support the delivery of engaging and relevant learning experiences appropriate to the diverse needs of our students.  Our teaching team currently provide highly specialised and individualised programs for up to 120 students from Prep to Year 12 with diverse learning needs including intellectual and/or multiple impairments. • Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland.
