Mount Druitt Public School is located in Western Sydney and is part of the Blacktown Local Government Area. It has a student enrolment of 551.  FOEI is currently at 122 and has increased from 108 from the start of the previous plan. Students come from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds with 3% of students identifying as Aboriginal and 70% from English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EALD). There are three support classes consisting of one Early Intervention Unit and two Multi Categorical classes with a focus on inclusion and challenging students to reach their full potential. Two Preschool classes cater for 40 full time children. Each child is valued and respected as a unique, capable and competent learner and encouraged to participate in play through all aspects of our preschool program. At Mount Druitt Public School we believe that every student should be challenged to learn and continually improve in a respectful, inclusive and high expectation environment. Our vision is to be partners in learning and collaboratively empower all students to become confident, resilient, self-directed and successful learners.

Selection Criteria

  1. Approval to teach Special Education and/or experience teaching students with Autism, Behavioural Difficulties, Mild-Moderate Intellectual and Physical Disability and high social, emotional and sensory needs. 
  2. Ability to develop and implement quality differentiated teaching and learning practices with a focus on literacy, numeracy and ongoing improvement in student learning outcomes. 
  3. Highly developed communication, interpersonal and organisational skills with proven capacity to establish and maintain effective partnerships with students, staff, parents, external agencies and the wider school community. 
  4. Committment to creating an innovative and inclusive environment which maximises student engagement, interest, independence and wellbeing. 


An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
