The Opportunity

In this role, you will provide legal advice to key stakeholders and internal clients on a range of legal matters, with a particular focus on NSW government sector regulation and administration, as well as privacy and information access. You will support good administrative decision making and effective contracting in the government sector to ensure efficient, pragmatic and timely solutions for the business that protect the interests of TAFE NSW.

You will deliver effective and succinct legal advice and related services in relation to legal and regulatory matters across different parts of the business, ensuring each matter is managed strategically and efficiently, risks are mitigated, and the desired outcome is achieved.

This role is a permanent full time position located in TAFE NSW’s Ultimo campus. For full details about the role please review the Position Description and Information Package 

About You

  • You are eligible to hold a current legal practising certificate in NSW with at least 6 years post admission experience.
  • You have demonstrated experience advising on NSW Government administrative law issues, privacy and other relevant laws and regulations, ideally gained by working for the NSW Government or in a top-tier / mid-tier law firm.
  • You have exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to quickly establish effective advisory credibility and trust with key stakeholders and executives.
  • You are exceptionally organised with strong time management skills.
  • You have clear and persuasive written and spoken communication skills.
  • You are independent and resourceful with a pragmatic and strategic approach to finding solutions as well as the ability to think innovatively.
