Details: Calwell Primary School is a preschool to Year 6 school located in Tuggeranong. We are looking for a dynamic person to fill the role of Learning Support Assistant working as part of a larger team. Under general direction assist teacher in school activities and in the implementation of educational programs for students with diverse needs. Under the direction of the class teacher, the Assistant may be required to:

  • Support individual and small group learning activities
  • Support individual students with physical management tasks e.g. lifting and toileting
  • Provide playground support
  • Supports students with self- regulation skills

The successful applicant will possess strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with all members of staff, children, families and the wider school community.

Eligibility/Other Requirements

  • Certificate 3 in Education Support (desirable)
  • Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - https://www.accesscanberra.act.gov.au/app/answers/detail/a_id/1804.
