Position Information

Coonabarabran Public School provides a quality education for all students in a safe and respectful learning environment. The school is located approximately 150 kilometres north of Dubbo in close proximity to the Warrumbungle National Park and Siding Spring Observatory.

Coonabarabran Public School has an enrolment of approximately 250 students, with 40% of whom identify as Aborginal or Torres Strait Islander. The executive structure of the school consists of one non-teaching Principal and three substantive Assistant Principals and an Instructional Leader (DP).

The school promotes a culture of respect, implementing Positive Behaviour for Learning philosophy. Coonabarabran Public School strives to maintain strong community links and to continually improve outcomes and learning experiences for all students.

Coonabarabran Public School caters for students with a diverse range of abilities and interests. The school has multiple classes for K-6 as well as an Opportunity Class and a Multi Categorical Class (MC). All are taught by a dedicated and multi-skilled staff.

Selection Criteria

  • Teaching qualifications and approval to teach Infants and Primary K-6.
  • Willingness to teach Choir and Drama
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with staff and parent/carers.
  • Demonstrated excellence in the planning and delivery of high quality, differentiated teaching and learning programs.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the Department’s Aboriginal Education policies.
