  • The Opportunity
  • We are seeking a qualified Cultural Arts Teacher who is passionate about passing on their knowledge and skills to the next generation. Primarily based at TAFE NSW Wauchope, you may also be required to teach at other TAFE NSW campuses including Port Macquarie, Kempsey and Macksville, as well as community-based locations and NSW Corrective Services facilities.

  • About You
  • To succeed in this role, you will be an experienced Cultural/Visual arts teacher or practitioner with three (3) years’ experience post qualification as a practicing exhibiting artist combined with professional/community experience and have a sound knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal Culture, communities and engagement.
  • You will have demonstrated involvement in working with the Aboriginal community, events, and issues as they relate to Aboriginal Culture.
  • To be considered for the role you will have:
  • Minimum qualification of Certificate III in Aboriginal Cultural Arts, Visual Arts, or equivalent qualification or demonstrated experience
  • Aboriginality (Aboriginality is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised under Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act of 1977). Candidate should present proof of Aboriginality as part of their application
  • TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent
  • Evidence of knowledge and skills in Aboriginal Cultural Arts in NSW
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality customer service
  • Commitment and willingness to learn and develop as a professional teacher
