Position Information

Victoria Avenue Public School is situated within a unique community facility, the Victoria Avenue Community Precinct. This precinct includes a Child Care Centre, an Early Childhood Health Centre, an Out of School Hours Care Centre and Victoria Avenue Public School. Victoria Avenue Community Precinct is situated adjacent to Sydney Olympic Park which includes Bicentennial Park. Bicentennial Park is used by teachers and students as an extension of the learning environment of the school.

Victoria Avenue Public School has 273 students, which includes 5 Inclusive classes, and caters to a diverse community. The school motto is 'Include, Inspire, Innovate' which encapsulates the school's ethos of including all students and families in school programs, inspiring the school community to strive for excellence in education and aspire towards future focused education for all students.

Selection Criteria

  1. Approval to teach Special Education and/or experience teaching students with additional learning needs including autism, intellectual disabilities and other complex support and learning needs.
  2. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with families, carers, therapists, SLSOs, teachers and the wider community to create differentiated education programs which promote continuous growth for the social, emotional, behavioural and academic learning needs of students.
  3. Demonstrated ability to design engaging learning programs and differentiate the curriculum to promote learning and independence.
  4. Demonstrated capacity to develop a culture of inclusion, high expectations and strong partnerships, valuing the richness and diversity of the school community.
