About the Role:

As the Head of Department - Science, you will have responsibility for the following:

  • The management and supervision of a range of staff including the supervision of two Scientific Officers
  • A focus on improving student outcomes in year 7-9
  • Investigation of Vocational Education Certificates to increase science offerings, meet industry demand and provide pathways for exiting senior students
  • Maintaining transition activities with feeder primary schools
  • Engaging with local community groups with the promotion of science related activities

A mandatory requirement of this role is:

  • Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland. 
  • Teachers working in Education and Care Services (including State Delivered Kindergarten programs) require an exemption card issued by Blue Card Services.
