Shenton College is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, energetic and dedicated leader for the Health and Physical Education (HPE) Department.
The College is one of Australia's leading co-educational schools and consists of a Middle School (Years 7 and 8), Lower Senior School (Years 9 and 10) and Upper Senior School (11 and 12).

The successful applicant should have a comprehensive knowledge of the full range of HPE courses including General, Certificate and ATAR. Shenton College also has a proud commitment to student participation in physical activities through providing co-curricular sporting opportunities, particularly within School Sports WA competitions, and as a result, we enjoy broad community support.

Strong HPE provision requires committed staff working collaboratively together and the successful applicant should have a strong track record in this area, as well as an understanding of department policy relating to school-based and off-site on excursions.
The College has outstanding facilities which include an international standard hockey turf, a modern gymnasium, as well as a dedicated weights/fitness centre.
With over 2700 students the College enjoys tremendous support from our local community through the Shenton College – Friends of Sport Facebook page and with coordination from a Director of Sport. Students participate in dedicated rowing and judo programs organised through our Learning Links partner, the University of Western Australia.
In 2021 the College launched a comprehensive specialist Hockey program which has enjoyed the support of our passionate local hockey playing community.
The College also provides diverse co-curricular opportunities, including extensive participation in a wide range of representative sports teams through School Sports WA. We have a proud culture of excellence and high achievement across many sports – particularly swimming, but also in many other disciplines.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment.
