FANCY A TREE CHANGE? Gordonvale State High School invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced Secondary Agricultural Practices teachers for this PERMANENT full-time position. Commencing in January 2021, our preferred applicant will have the skills, knowledge and/ or experience to deliver the Agricultural Practices curriculum across all years. The successful candidate will be dynamic, enthusiastic and innovative in their approach to delivering the curriculum, and have the ability to work collaboratively with a dedicated and professional teaching team.

Gordonvale State High School is located 25 minutes south of Cairns. The school is a Year 7-12 High School catering to the needs of 800 students. Our school motto is: Strive to Excel.

The school's agriculture program is our "point of difference" in the Cairns area and is popular with students from grades 7 to 12.

Programs in Agriculture at Gordonvale State High School have included:

The successful applicant will be working as part of our Science and Technology teams and will be responsible for teaching classes in:

  • Year 7-10 Food and Fibre production strand of the Australian Curriculum - Technology syllabus
  • Year 11-12 Agricultural Practices
  • An additional teaching area would be an advantage.
