Position Information

Condobolin High School is an inclusive comprehensive secondary school in the township of Condobolin on the lands of the Wiradjuri people. It is a rural, six point incentive school and is located close to the geographic centre of New South Wales. Condobolin is home to approximately 3 500 people. Farming, trades, mining, shire workers, education and local retailers are just a few of the common occupations held within the area.

Of the current 206 students, 52.9% (109 students) identify as being of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent. Our Stage 6 students are a part of the Lachlan Access Program (LAP). LAP is part of a diverse range of access programs across the state that provide opportunities for students to study Stage 6 courses within their own community. Teachers work collaboratively to deliver curriculum through a blended online learning platform.

Selection Criteria

  • Approval to teach Science Year 7-10, Chemistry and Earth & Environmental Science
  • Capacity to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents and community utilising quality communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to differentiate learning activities to support the educational needs of all students with a diverse range of learning needs including HPGE, low-socio-economic communities, Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and EAL/D families.
  • Demonstrated capacity to use evidence-based classroom practice, that fosters a culture of high expectations and models inclusive teaching practices for students with a wide range of learning needs.
