Gippsland’s local TAFE is looking for a highly motivated professional to join our team as the Payroll Coordinator. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for someone who is seeking to further develop their payroll career.

About the role:

As the Payroll Coordinator, you will be responsible for the delivery of an efficient payroll service.

You will coordinate and administer the payroll system to ensure the Institute complies with legislative requirements, relevant industrial instruments and the Institute’s policies and procedures.

You will be accountable for ensuring that all employee salaries and entitlements are claimed and paid in an accurate and timely manner according to Awards, Certified Agreements and relevant legislation. You will also contribute to meeting general HR operational service and support requirements across TAFE Gippsland as a member of the HR team.

To be successful you will have relevant Payroll Coordination experience and a proven track record of undertaking complex duties which entail a high degree of responsibility. You will also be a highly driven, enthusiastic individual with exceptional interpersonal skills who is passionate about their local community and dedicated to the region.

Mandatory requirements:

  • A relevant Diploma with applicable work experience or a lower level qualification with at least 5 years’ experience
  • Experience and demonstrated knowledge in using a HRIS/Payroll system is mandatory (preferably CHRIS 21).
  • A current Driver’s Licence
  • A current employee Working with Children Check
  • A current (Less than 12 months) satisfactory National Police Check
