About the Role:
Develop, teach, deliver, assess and evaluate units and courses as connected to AMEP & SEE and Skills First program delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and assist in the accurate recording of student attendance
  • Contact learners to discuss absence and to support their return to the classroom, wherever possible (timings of contact to be determined with line manager)
  • Develop teaching resources that meet department and curriculum requirements.
  • Embrace new technologies and innovations.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement strategies.
  • Identify, create and participate in professional development relevant to teaching and the maintenance of vocational currency.

Key Selection Criteria:

  1. Appropriate post-secondary qualifications, and a post-graduate TESOL and/or LLN qualification which included a minimum 22-day supervised teaching practicum in TESOL.
  2. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110 including TAEASS502 and TAELLN411) or (TAE40116) are essential.
  3. Demonstrated understanding of Vocational Education and Training, adult learning principles, teaching methodologies and a demonstrated high standard of teaching practice; and a commitment to learner-centred teaching.
  4. Demonstrated experience in the planning, delivery and evaluation of creative and innovative teaching and learning and evidence of its effectiveness.

Payment is at the rate of:

  • $78.22 per hour for Casual Teaching -Certificate IV qualified
  • $81.37 per hour for Casual Teaching-Diploma or equivalent (AQF5) teacher training qualified.
  • $84.57 per hour for Casual Teaching-AQF6 teacher training qualified
