The Director, Quality Preschool Leadership will be at the forefront of this work providing innovative educational leadership for the implementation of actions under the Early Learning Strategy’s world-class government preschools policy stream.
In collaboration with divisions within the Department, the Director will effectively and actively contribute to our key service delivery areas by embedding preschool improvement practices across school sites within South Australia.
The Director will provide strategic leadership to build capacity in preschool contexts to lead, positively influence and inspire high quality preschool programs underpinned by excellence in teaching and learning.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to provide central leadership that aligns corporate office, local education teams and sites through high level communication and effective change management processes. They will provide strategic advice to support system decision making relating to the delivery of preschool education, including ongoing connection to world-class research that informs contemporary preschool teaching and learning practice.
Working collaboratively with the broader community and key stakeholders to achieve performance outcomes, the successful applicant will possess the ability to translate national, state and departmental education policy into effective action in preschools and/or schools. They will bring expert knowledge of early childhood educational theory, policy and practice.

The successful applicant is required to gain a Department of Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. A current DHS child-related employment screening will be recognised as a WWCC until it expires.
The incumbent will be required to undertake Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse & Neglect – Education and Care (RRHAN-EC) full day/online training course every three years. For all other Special Conditions please refer to the Role Description.
