Northern Midlands Council

The Northern Midlands covers an area of 5,130 square kilometres, extending from Liffey Bluff in the west to Mount St John in the east (150kms) and from Relbia in the north to Tooms Lake in the south (95kms).

The landscape changes from mountainous country on its eastern and western boundaries to extensive grazing lands renowned for fine wool production, the rich agricultural river flats of the Esk, Lake and Macquarie Rivers; historic towns and villages; and from small businesses to multi-million dollar enterprises.

The 2016 census recorded the population of the Northern Midlands at 12,822 and the Regional population growth (ABS) projected a population of 13,300 in the Northern Midlands at June 2018.

Closing Date:  31/10/2020 12:00 am The Northern Midlands Council is seeking to recruit a Diploma qualified and experienced Early Childhood Educator to work at the Midlands Rural and Remote Childcare Service located at Cressy. The successful applicant will provide care and support for children in accordance with individual children’s development plans, centre policy, and relevant legislation. This position will also provide educational leadership to Educators with lesser qualifications and experience in relation to planning for individuals and groups, challenging behaviours, and disabilities. This position will commence as full-time employment for a period of four months, then reduce to a part time engagement, with up to thirty hours per week from February 2021.
