Location Profile Healesville is a small rural town nestled in the foothills of the eastern ranges approximately 60 kilometres from the centre of Melbourne. Healesville Primary School has served the local community since its establishment in 1866 and different generations of many families are counted in its past and present student body. Originally Healesville had farming and timber as its main industries, but as the community has evolved it has developed into a tourist and wine area. We have an enrolment of 200 students with approximately 10% of our student population made up from indigenous families. This figure has been quite static for the past few years. There is a gender balance between boys and girls across the school as a whole but not necessarily at individual year levels. The school has excellent facilities. The BER building provides flexible learning options along with a two storey complex of 12 classrooms which provides an impressive range of educational...
